As a critical component to our business, we ensure all security safeguards utilized by OILspace are industry best practices. Successful protection includes a combination of strong authentication, effective authorization, assured confidentiality and audited user activity. Specific components include:
Security at the Physical Level
The OILspace Energy Service Bus is co-located with UUnet, the world's leading facility providers, to house its hardware and to connect to the Internet. UUnet's co-location facilities are designed to provide permanent Internet access and state-of-the-art, secured telecommunications. All UUnet co-hosting facilities are guarded 24/7, preventing any unauthorized access to the OILspace physical infrastructure.

Security at the Network Level
Security measures at the network level include hardware accelerated 128 bit SSL encryption on all Energy Service Bus data, multiple levels of firewalls and intrusion detection, configurable password hardening, IP address range restriction, RSA SecurID Tokens and the ability for customers to install a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Security at the Application Level
To access the Energy Service Bus at the application level users must first pass through the security measures employed at the physical and network levels. Each time a user begins a new session at the application level, the Energy Service Bus requires all usernames and passwords to be authenticated. All authentication is based on state-of-the-art encryption provided by OILspace's secure ID cards. Additionally, all user activity can be restricted to defined IP addresses.
