Ed Shnayder Appointed VP Engineering At Energy Solutions Vendor OILspace
OILspace, a leading provider of trade, risk and supply chain management and market intelligence solutions for the energy and commodities sectors, today announces the appointment of Ed Shnayder as VP of engineering. He will lead the further evolution of OILspace's portfolio of software-as-a-service offerings, already proven with more than 400 oil, energy and allied companies throughout the world.
OILspace CEO Steve Hughes said Shnayder would play a key role in licensing, acquiring and building the technologies that will take the company forward into new applications and market areas. "Our services oriented architecture is already a generation on from the traditional client server way of doing things. Ed will lead the team taking that modular software foundation still further by adding new functionality and new vertical market capabilities, with an early priority being enhanced analytics and decision support."
Taking charge at OILspace's development centre in Moscow, Russia, Shnayder has a more than 20-year track record in the software business, most recently as principal applications architect and director of strategic projects at Vitria Technology where he spent nine years working with Fortune 500 customers. Prior to that he was principal architect at TIBCO (Teknekron) working on distributed and real time systems, previously holding senior positions at Thompson Financial and Computran.
He holds MSc degrees in computer science and mathematics and beginning his career in academia, rising to assistant professorship in applied mathematics at the Chelyabinsk Technical University, Russia.
