Marketing Specialist - OILspace Asia-Pac

Working for a unique industry vertical software solutions provider you will be charged with hands-on research, development and execution of targeted marketing efforts for lead generation and brand building. You will also support and develop, in conjunction with Sales Team, detailed proposals to tender medium to large value contracts for our real time Energy Trading and ERP System licenses and development projects. Our buyers include Oil refiners, producers, trading houses, end-users and the global shipping market.

Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing, the successful applicant will need to show a hunger and determination to manage our marketing for our Asia-Pac office while contributing to the day-to-day marketing efforts of the firm. The position is based in our Singapore or Shanghai office and will require minor travel during the year.

Responsibilities include:
  • Liaise with Sales to write effective one-to-one sales letters, proposals, presentations and emails campaigns for highly targeted prospects. Excellent writing skills a must.
  • Translate English-version brochures, website copy, press releases, sales kits into localized simplified Chinese. Must be able to effectively translate marketing and technical IT-oriented copy.
  • Lead our search engine marketing program for our Chinese-language website, and manage Google and Baidu ad words programs.
  • Develop database to define market segments and target campaigns
  • Become a product expert on oil-industry specific software products and effectively communicate sales objectives internally and externally.
  • Propose and execute marketing campaigns to generate sales leads through web site, PR, email, mail and tradeshow marketing.
  • Manage outside vendors and procure best prices for printing and promotional efforts.
  • Coordinate & manage logistics for seminars.
  • Assist customer care in creating user guides and demos.

The Person:

  • Energy, Oil, Petrochemical Marketing experience a Plus.
  • Strong understanding in list acquisition, database development and utilization of contact management software.
  • Strong knowledge of direct marketing techniques, mailing systems, and postal regulations
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience of system integration, ERP systems and/or software marketing.
  • Self-motivated and highly driven
  • A team player but capable of working autonomously.
  • Able to manage a number of initiatives and staff at one time.
  • Experience of selling into the Oil/Gas sector would be preferable, although not essential.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Powerpoint, Excel; Dreamweaver or Front Page a plus for HTML creation; understanding of art programs such as Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Illustrator a must, along with widely used file formats jpeg, gif, tiff, eps.
